So…how does this work?!

It’s a question that I get asked 90% of the time and rightly so. The exact process can be a little daunting and confusing. This is how I work, in a nut shell…

  • Let’s chat. I offer a no obligation chat via phone, or video conference (FaceTime, Skype, Zoom).
  • If you choose me as your celebrant, a deposit is paid to secure the date and time of your wedding. Upon receiving your deposit, you will receive access to a range of resources that will help us to plan your dream ceremony.
  • Meeting 1 – at this meeting we will draft your ceremony so come with ideas of what you would like and even what you don’t want! Also bring with you:
    • NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage) – this must be lodged no earlier than 18 months before your wedding but no later than one month before.
    • Evidence of your date and place of birth in their original form
    • Photo Identification
    • If you have been married previously let me know and I can tell you what documentation is required
    • All documentation must be in English. Again, let me know if this is a problem and I can advise you on what to do.
  • Between meeting 1 and 2 I’ll ask you and your partner to fill out a questionnaire which will give me get to know you and give me an insight to your relationship. We will probably have a few chats through the most convenient means of communication for you as I begin to draft your ceremony.
  • Payment is due during this period. 50% of the final amount owing is due 8 weeks before your wedding date and the final amount owning is due 4 weeks before your wedding date.
  • Meeting 2 –  at this meeting we will discuss the final draft of your ceremony and other details of the day. We will also arrange a time to conduct a rehearsal and complete the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage.
  • Week of the Wedding – sign the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage and hold a rehearsal if you need one.
  • Your Wedding Day! What you need:
    • You and your partner
    • 2 witnesses over the age of 18
    • Leave the rest to me and enjoy the moment!
  • After your wedding I will forward all the relevant documents to the relevant state authority within 14 days to have your marriage registered.
  • You will be provided with a Presentation Marriage Certificate on the day of your wedding, however should you need an official Marriage Certificate you will need to apply to the relevant state authority which I can assist you with – just let me know.
